Wayne Thomas

Banjo and Vocals

Wayne was born into a musical family on October 16 1964 back in the prime days of bluegrass

music. His father was an active bluegrass musician having performed with many local groups

Likely the best known of those being "The Sykes Brothers & The Bluegrass Drifters.

Waynes first instrument was the dobro being inspired by the Flatt & Scruggs Dobro player

"Uncle Josh Graves" Later on the banjo bug had bitten Wayne and he opted to take up the banjo. It has been said that he wore out many record players while listening to Earl Scruggs.

Later on Wayne was drafted to learn upright bass for a "fill in position" in a band that his father was working with at the time. From that position he became an acomplished bassist.

His "Musican Hero's " are Earl Scruggs on the banjo---- often imitated never equalled!

Bob Moore , Floyd "Lightning"Chance, Roy Huskey and Joe Zinkan on bass.

Wayne is married to his wife of 10 years Christy and has been quoted saying "Christy is my inspiration" There is also another family member that demands mention...Shauna their 7 yr old Cocker Spaniel who is an authority on the song Salty Dog Blues!
